Topic: Caithness bowl with strapping

I know it's Caithness 'cos it has a label, but I can't find what range or when. It's very heavy and has at least three layers plus strapping and the purple. The mottling on the inside is quite different to the outside. The outside is also varies from textured through to smooth.6 inches diameter, 4.5 inches tall

The shape matches those called Round Bowl but the pattern has yet to be found in a catalogue. Unfortunately with Pkay of the map, getting access to catalogues of the glassware has ground to a halt. Although the rest of the paperweight range is being prepared by Lynne and Wolf.

If anyone has catalogues with the glassware, please get in touch.

I saw a similar(ish) Caithness vase in an auction this week, its gone now, i didnt get it
It was faintly acid etched on the base, took me ages to decipher it was Caithness,
did i miss a bargain? Its not a good photo, taken on my phone, the blue vase on the right,
and it also seemed to have about 3 layers.

I think that's a different range - I'm sure I saw it either on Scotland's Glass or on replacements.com

Can anyone confirm this is Caithness Xanadu and designed by Colin Terris. There's supposedly one here

Hi Christine,
Much as I once thought this was Xanadu, new research is currently indicating that it is possibly not, despite it being made in a similar manner and appearing visually similar. Perhaps it was derived from it? As Frank says, catalogues are VERY few and far between. Nice thing though!
