ID Vases: IVV Florence Italy & Low end ??? Murano
« on: October 28, 2004, 12:16:23 PM »
But can anyone please help me identify them?!

These were one of my first purchases when I started attending auctions a few months ago:

I've not seen anything like them before or since - they weren't expensive - £6 for the pair I think.

These 2 I believe look more Scandinavian than anything, but feel free to contradict me! They're 11" tall.

I have several more items I'd like advice on, but I'll leave them for another time! Thanks n advance for any replies

The first one is cheap and cheerful and machine made - probably by IVV, and Italian glass maker near Florence. IVV stands for Industria Vetreria Valdarnese and they mainly supply giftshops. You would expect to pay  :!: more than 6 ukp there.

The second pair is typical lower end Murano glass - nothing scandinavian there.

The vases in the second set of pics are very abundant here in Iowa. I have one in red and have seen them in yellow. Not a clue as to maker, but they are not top quality. Anyone else have any ideas? Terry

2nd item - I'm sure I've seen one of these in the past with a 'Made in China' sticker.  Anyone else?
