vaseline/cranberry ("rubina verde") overshot glass
« on: March 16, 2008, 02:51:06 AM »
My first impressions is that this is most likely Bohemian, but if anyone has any additional input, it is always welcome and much appreciated.
I never see overshot vaseline glass.  When I do see overshot glass that has vaseline glass on it, it is generally a cranberry stick vase with an applied vaseline spiral rigaree  (and the cranberry fades from deep red to clear as it goes down the length of the vase).  I don't think I have seen any made in the classic 'rubina verde' style before (small gather of cranberry, followed by larger gather of vaseline, then rolled in the overshot frit).

I am hoping some recognize the crimping, 6 corners, anything!

Dimensions:  star shaped top rim
widest top rim: 6", narrowest top rim: 5"
tallest point (at one of the points of the star): 1 3/4"
internal dimension (where the rim stops and it starts to be a 'bowl'): 3 3/4"
and polished pontil.

I got word from Brian Severn (who is researching a possible book on Harrach) that he is "99.8% sure that this bowl was made by Harrach."
