Bubbly Ashtray/Bowl - Italian or other?
« on: March 18, 2008, 08:00:20 PM »
I bought this with the idea that it was Murano, but...Now I'm not so sure. Any thoughts? The base is polished, but not as highly polished as I'd expected.

Maybe the Murano folks could have a look?

I see what you mean, Shannon. The bubbles seem more Scandinavian to me, but I can't recall any Scandinavian maker who did this type of geode type bowl. Does the base have age?

I would say it has a little wear, but not a lot. Do you think it could be a recent piece from China or Poland? The quality seems nice, but the semi-matte base confuses me.
