Striped vase with cranberry rim
« on: March 08, 2008, 09:06:48 PM »
Can anyone help with this please? It is 18cm high and has a ground and polished base.I wonder if the distinctive cranberry coloured rim will help with the ID. (the three dots are tiny feltpads that were on when i bought it.)

Thanks Andy .
I've just noticed an error in my original post ! It should read 18cm high not 8.

It is stunning. I've seen similar things before in Italy, I think from La Murrhina. But I'm not quite sure about that.

Thanks Ivo, my feeling was that it could be Italian. I like it too, It was the only 'keeper' from a box of pieces I have just bought at auction.

Just googling it, Zanfiroco range, a very succesful later range by Timothy and Elizabeth Harris,
Im sure, someone on here, or IOW glass, or maybe Artius glass, would confirm the possibility ;)

Wow!
Thanks, I thought I had a fairly good idea of IOW patterns! Didn't think about them for this piece at all. Great work Andy and Martyn.

It seems Zanfirico is a very recent 2004-2007 . A fairly narrow range of mainly small pieces it seems.
Thanks again
David
