Pirelli terriers-Just for fun.
« on: March 23, 2008, 01:18:22 PM »
Here is a photograph of my 'family' of Pirelli terriers.  Some of the pups have three colour eyes and some two and I think I need a yellow pup to make the 'family' complete.  My husband seems to think that there is not enough kennel space to cope with any more. :)

Don't forget that you also get different coloured irises and ears too. How big is your largest?

Frank - The largest is 4-3/4" long by 4-1/4" high (120 x 105 mm), it's the blue one at the back.
Also, I have emailed photographs to you of a possible Pirelli Pegasus and a labelled clear Pirelli foal for the Zoo, let me know if they don't arrive.

Pegasus is definite match to the catalogue in the Zoo. I watched the auction to see how many Zoo members spotted it :-)

Pirelli called these dogs, Standing Scotties. sizes Small and Medium. At some point they must have added Large too, There are also a versions with; short snout, sitting, short tail, long tail, and bulging belly. Must have been their best selling line. Perhaps we will find out more when the article by an ex-Pirelli worker is added to the Zoo.

Although labelled as Pirelli, do we know who made these and where yet, Frank?

They were made in Pirelli's factory in St Alban's, read the article. http://www.ysartglass.com/Pirelli/Pirelli%20Glass.htm or did you mean which worker?

Which will tell us the designers too  :)

There is also an article in the Glass Zoo showing one of the guys in the works making a horse.
