Karl Lindberg or recent horror??
« on: June 27, 2005, 11:45:47 AM »
http://tinypic.com/6ft4d0.jpg  Mod: Link dead, see image in reply #4 below, (thanks Ivo.)

I bought this one in France maybe 10 years ago and recently found something quite similar - allegedly by Karl Lindberg for Kosta in the years 1908-1910.

There's no marks, no pontils, and no apparent age - but of course, everything is possible....  Opinions on this subject are hereby solicited!

Anyway, height of vase is 23 cm (9"), and yes it is cameo.

Ivo,
Not surprised at cameo if this did come from Kosta at that time. Best known art nouveau artists working for Kosta were Gunnar G:son Wennerberg and Ferdinand Boberg.

The following artists were creating cameo art nouveau glass at Kosta. Axel Enoch Boman, Gunnar G:son Wennerberg, Kai Nielsen, Ferdinand Boberg, Karl Lindberg and Alf Wallender.

Your form's floweral images appear to me to be quite
contemportary and do no seem to fit into the Swedish
cameo I have seen for this period.

Ivo,
Other pieces allegedly by Lindberg:

Edited addition:
PS, Note, my use of the word "allegedly" does not imply that these are not by Lindberg, merely that I could not find mention of signature, or catalogue reference. If I had clicked to enlarge image I would have done so.
Humble apologies to Bacchusantik, for any offense caused.
