kluk kluk lookalikes

A set of quite heavy decanters, 30 cm high (12") with a stopper that looks different from the ball stopper on the official one in current production. Both decanters have a nice clear colour, and a wonderful finish of both stopper and underside. Any ideas?

The shape, with its sloped shoulders, looks similar to the kuttrolfs being produced by Glimma in the 1950s/60s.

I had some reference images for Glimma decanters, but I seem to have misplaced them, or might have lost them when my hard drive died last year.  ::)

Edit: Ignore that last bit - found the photos. I'd say Glimma is a fair bet for the manufacturer, based on the shape.

Steven & Williams version introduced 1904 to 1907 as 'Black Forest Bottle' Plain 3/6d engraved 8/6d (Wholesale).

Why Black Forest though?

Oh, that's very pretty.

According to Wikipedia the kuttrolf found popularity in Germany, apparently in South West and Northern Germany... so possibly they went with the German link and tweaked it into something more romantic and saleable?

I'm hoping I translated it properly.... http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuttrolf
