I googled and found that ALT is a contemporary company that makes paperweights. There is a mention of them under factories at http://www.landofodds.com/store/murano.htm. Handy information -- thanks for showing the signature.

Thank you Anita, i will try to get a better pic of the base to morrow and a full view of the weight itself, i think it is lovely  :)
