Whitefriars Bud Vase with Label - one for Pat (Bubbles)?
« on: April 03, 2008, 04:05:43 PM »
Attached are two photos (from 683!) I took at Himley Hall (courtesy of Broadfield House Glass museum) of a WF bud vase, single bubble base, complete with label. Not sure if they are of any use to anyone, but I can clean up the photo (to 'disappear' the muck in the base) if required - not time to clean it properly as I was on a tight schedule.

Hi, Nice to see it with the early Label ( Pre 1964 ) .  The pattern number is 9566 and it first appeared in the 1964 cat. Looks like Arctic Blue.
Regards ,
       Patrick.

Thanks for the low-down Patrick. This must then date it precisely to 1964, with the label dating and the pattern first appearing in that year?

Hi David,
Thank you.  It is exactly like the one I mentioned on the site, same colour and label, it is brilliant to be able to date it precisely, thanks Patrick.

i picked an amber one with a 78 label the other week (currently selling it) and was told that its not particualy rare?

i would of thought finding any piece of whitefriars with a label is a rare occurance...

Any whitefriars item that is labelled would make it more desirable but it certainly isnt a rare occurrence, you just have to look on eBay and you see plenty with labels.

Hi What Ho!
Would you say that a 9566 with out a label in the colour way Tangerine is rare, maybe from around 1968?  ;) if so how about two anyway as we know the sky blue was rare, but i think these are more rare, and have set a new bench mark for the 9566 collectors to find.

So keep those eyes peeled for the ruby ones out there some where :) in the mean time you can look at this,
