Fratelli Toso Green/gold bowl?
« on: April 09, 2008, 08:18:50 PM »
Good evening All
Would any one agree with me that this could well be a Fratelli Toso bowl it contains controlled bubbles which show as gold flecks with in the glass, it stands 2.5ins high has 5 folds the pontil base is polished and as a bit of wear, the width is 7ins feels and looks great opinions appreciated.

Hi Shannon
Definatly Murano i would say am watching a red one on ebay at the moment which looks like it, but in red number 160228376600, a second opinion of this would be nice, there is also a larger one number 160228359947, both around the 1959 circa. according to the seller.

Those examples are also generic, and highly overpriced. These forms and styles are some of the most common to be found, and generally sell for around $10-15 on ebay.

I must say, my Murano bowl, which was only $40 Cdn., looks way better, is case with four levels (clear, white, pink and clear) and has aventurine.  :hiclp: :chky:

There's one here in red with a partial label...

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1950s-RED-MURANO-GLASS-BULLICANTE-BOWL-LABEL_W0QQitemZ250233250286QQcmdZViewItem

...but fairly safe to ignore the Barbini attribution the seller gives.
