Lidl actually sell more mainland European items than Chinese from what I can see.
I always have a look when I'm there and their ceramics are nearly always German, and much of their glass seems to be Polish. Having said that, Chinese production is improving - the vase I have looks good and is well-made. Some of the others weren't so well-made aI deliberately went through them all and picked out the best example to show how easy it is to be fooled by these pieces. The poorer-made ones have the line where the colour changes to clear somewhat offset or uneven, and the bubbles varied in size too. Also note that the top rim is flat cut and smooth, not rounded/fire-polished.
