Not sure I like the 99,999 % attribution. I would give Dalian more credit than 0,001% - especially with the untypical clear casing!

As David E says,
" V.Nason
Currently the black and aventurine vases can be purchased quite cheaply although as the company are no longer in business their collectability should increase in the years to come. Tomorrow's collectable, perhaps?"

The nice one on ebay, found by JP above, sold for £12.26 !
Price wise, doesnt make much difference whether Nason or chinese :'(

Regards
Andy

Obviously the pressed!! item is Nason - with or without blue opaque shards rolled in, but I will not agree to simply attribute any item with rolled in aventurine in black, blue or red to Nason.  If you have an identical model with a sticker, sure. But using aventurine is just another technique.

from the base it looks like this vase might be mold blown??? or is it ground and polished and i'm just seeing things? every pressed or molded v nason piece that i've had in my hands has the word "ITALY" in raised letters upon the base? is that true of all v nason pressed/molded pieces? if not, when did it start/stop? does anyone know?

the variety of aventurine "blobs" seems different to me as well? in the nason pieces that i've got all the copper bits are of the same color and tone. i've seen Formia pieces that use the multi hued aventurine like in your vase, though. if you look closely at Ivo's pictures of labeled pieces from the Avventurine line you'll notice that the aventurine is very crisp, almost glittery and in smaller, more uniform "chunks". in your vase, there are some of the crisp glittery bits but also pearlescent tan and gold bits. i've not seen this combination in labeled/marked v. nason. of course, i'm not an expert on V Nason or much of anything else for that matter ;)

tc,

bidda

The blue ones shown by Andy and Ivo are nothing like the one Christine and I saw. It was a midnight blue background, with the aventurine inclusions. No paler blues as in the examples shown, and the inside was cased in white glass. None of the Nason or Dalian examples seem to have been cased white inside?
