Very interesting!  It's new to me, too.

One day I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine. William Hartnell

It looks to me to be a Moser oroplastique 'look-a-like'

many many companies copied Moser when they came out with their oroplastique glass

If I had to guess I'd say Goldberg

cheers

There does seem to be some similarity with the Boom work, but the style on this seems pretty distinctive.  To me it looks more nationalistic or like a coat of arms or something than cupid-like.  Is the face on the wings really frowning, or is that a trick of the light?

To me it doesn't look like a Moser-type oroplastique decoration.  The relief areas within the design aren't gilt, and it appears to drawn by hand rather than with a stencil.

I saw something Hungarian yesterday that reminded me a lot of this piece.  Not that this is Hungarian, but to me it looks like it has some eastern or Islamic influence.  Russian maybe?

yup, the critter really is frowning and it definitely looks hand done. not by stencil. to me it looks like 18th or 19th century grave stone motif. for some reason I keep thinking it looks french. that's just a total gut feeling though. not based on anything really.

it looks like the symbol I am thinking of is related to the pennsylvanian germans. So perhaps this vase is germanic..
