I thought it would look good in the garden too but then it occurred to me that the neighborhood kids would find it too fascinating to leave alone. Not often you find a solid lump of glass the size of a bowling ball. So it sits in the very bottom of my cabinet with books on either side: an oversized curiosity.
I would love to visit the Corning Museum of glass, not only to see Simpson's monumental weight but all the others. That article says they let you make your own paperweight!
