Leni — May I respectfully point out that the charming ancient coaching town and former rotten borough of Brackley is actually in the Midlands, or at least it was the last time I went there!   Only by a mile or two (two kilometres or three), but definitely in Northamptonshire.   I presume you have added the Gaydon corridor to Central London.

Bernard, I do know where Brackley is, as we frequently visit the Brackley Antique Cellar, which I recommend for a Sunday afternoon browse - it even has an excellent little tea room!    It's only an hour or so from us - although admittedly we are situated somewhat to the North-West of London    However, I mentioned Basil because I understand he regularly comes down to London to collect glass for repair from various London dealers.  I have heard specifically of some based at Alfie's who use his services and speak highly of his work.

Wilkinson's fit the bill for location and are one of the oldest restorers around. They also replace missing glass with resin, good enough for display yet easily seen on inspection. They are not cheap but excellent and innovative.
