Not a "C" cane - Strathearn weight
« on: July 10, 2008, 12:58:56 PM »
ebay item 380044644594 is offered as an early Vasart with a "C" signature cane and a suggestion that the "C" was for Catherine Ysart.

I have emailed the seller and said it is a regular Strathearn closepack and the "C" (that I can see) is just a distortion of white covering part of the dark blue around the white central rod.

Of course, most of us here know that, but the "C" cane may have generated some extra interest. At least, it wasn't said to be "Clichy" as happened a couple of times in the past for Vasart / Strathearn weights with similar distorted canes!

Almost as real as the "Monart" full name signature cane.
