Topic: please help id this glass etched mark

i was told many years ago that this is a dutch glass mark...but cannot seem to find it in print.

Almost correct - it is the mark of Peill & Pützler, of Düren, Germany.

Norman — You will find a picture of the mark (the right way up) plus other information in Ivo's reference handbook Miller's glass fact file a–z, a useful starting point.   Mine travels with me and has paid for itself many times over.   I think Ivo is too modest to mention this himself!

This reminds me of an old family friend, Dr William Fox, whose books on arthritis may be known to some members

When anyone rang for a consultation the receptionist would ask politely whether they had read Dr Fox's book and went on to inform the caller that if they hadn't, they should purchase a copy, or borrow it from the library, read it, and then if they thought that Dr Fox could help them, ring to make an appointment!
