Help needed to identify etched vase with Orrefors feel
« on: August 20, 2008, 12:16:43 PM »
Hi,

Would be grateful for any suggestions to identify this 10" vase.  Etched with a girl (with a curl) and a bird.  Has an Orrefors feel to it, but no marks on the flat bottom.

Certainly looks like Orrefors. I seem to remember a thread some time ago about a vase with a bird on it that was held to be Orrefors despite the absence of a signature on the bottom. The point being that Orrefors can occasionally be unsigned. However, I don't think it would greatly change the intrinsic or extrinsic value of the vase if it turned out to be by Kosta, for example.

I saw a piece recently with a very similar style of motif, signed by Bengt Edenfalk for Skruf. Could be an avenue to explore.
