No I don't think you're missing much these days. It
is
a pure fabrication - and the first instance of the word "
Fallacy
" in 20 years. It is also one of the ugliest vases I have ever seen - but that is not the point.

It looks like one of the Chinese female form vases. Are those murrine ovaries? Maybe somewhere down the line -- 200 or 300 years -- the vase will be worth AU $200.
