Black Murano Bowl
« on: August 05, 2005, 05:41:44 PM »
Hi   I have a Black Glass Footed Bowl with White  inside.  It is marked with a Silver foil sticker  Murano  AR  It is about 7” across the top.  Any information you can give me would be appreciated.  I have looked through the web and found a lot of Murano Glass but nothing that looks like this one. I am a Black Glass collector and I think this bowl was in a large lot of black glass I bought about 20 years ago.  Thank You for your help.

Here are the pictures of the bowl and label.

Hi Guest,
Looks like it could be Moretti. I recently saw a few auctions where the maker was Moretti and the pieces looked like yours.

Hi

A better look at the label would help - can you post a clear pic of it?

I collect Carlo Moretti and don't recognise this - the other Moretti companies are Moretti & Fratelli, Ercole, Moretti Ulderico & Cie - it could be one of those - Moretti companies usually signed as well as label - the AR makes bit unlikely to be Moretti - the A is likely to stand for 'Arte' or 'Artistico' etc - it's the R you need to source - I will get back to you

Hi David555,
My comment on Moretti was a suggestion since that same week I saw similar pieces listed as Moretti, not that it  "was" Moretti. Sorry if I confused anyone.
