Some Strathearn has a similarly treated scar where a gadget was used instead of a pontil iron.

Thanks Ivo - noted.
Frank, I take it you're not suggesting it's Strathearn.

The detail pics remind me that I have seen a lampshade with dark / black outlines to the flattened frits like this which was listed as Peill & Putzler. However I have never seen any other P&P like this and very much doubt that P&P would finish a pontil in that way. So I guess another one down to wishful listing. Great lampshade though. Ed.

P&P always finished with a proper polished out pontil mark, no shortcuts there.

As are all my P&P I just hate to use the word "always". Thanks for the confirmation. Ed.

Not at all, just clarifying that Strathearn did start to change the way things were done. This bowl is lovely it would be nice to find a maker... perhaps someone will recognise the colours?

Andy,

I am pretty certain that this bowl is an unmarked piece of Teign Valley Glass (Bovey Tracey, Devon). They made spatter ware like this some years ago, which has been discussed on these boards elsewhere.

Cheers, Nigel
