But I don't think so. Mould blown tumblers with a ground and polished pontil mark, some very large. Can't remember if I have 4 or 6 , but they are all slightly different, although obviously from the same manufacturer. Interestingly, there are two basic variations within the set. Some have vertical external optic ribbing and some have slightly wrythern external optic ribbing. Yellowish amber glass. Webb? Click to enlarge

Christine I have seven of these (a set of 6 vertical ribbed ones plus an odd wrythern ribbed one) and a jug to match the set of 6. They had been listed as Whitefriars (which they weren't of course) so I picked them up cheap.  I did see another set listed on eBay as Webb (in a gorgeous amethyst colour) which did go for silly money as I recall, and my mother has some blue ones in the same style as well. All ours are unmarked but I suspect they could be Webb.

good morning all.  A lot of Webb amber coloured glass is mistaken for Whitefriars. The Webb items have a slightly more brownish tinge about them whereas the Whitefriars is an unmistakable "true" Golden Amber colour.  Quite hard to differentiate sometimes especially on a photo but if you put them side by side it is very obvious, I think. Webb's produced two amber colour 'flavours': the rather brown version which is more commonplace, but there's also Sunshine Amber, which is far brighter and more yellow, as the name suggests. This also has uranium content so does glow very brightly and is more collectable.

But Thomas Webb's glass invariably has an acid-stamp and I can't make one out on the bases of these.

Having no acid-stamp is quite unusual for Webb, but not unknown. Possible these tumblers were made by Webb's but it's not a style I recognise although the colour is very similar. Nice examples though...

I would bet on them being Webb i have seen one or two over the last 20 years that have been marked but i    have seen loads that were not , as i have said before they have a pontil that spans most of the base.
