Thanks Marcus,

Did they also make a vase in this pattern? Cappa illustrates such a piece, i.e. same fish & wave design but tall sided as a vase and attributes it to Sevres (see Le Genie Verrier de L'Europe, 2nd Ed. no.744, p422). I've always questined many of the Sevres attributions in the book as there are other misattributions (see no. 745 which is a Walther float bowl).

Hi Steven,
Yes they did make a vase. Pattern number 12890, height 180mm.
Regards,
Marcus

Thanks Marcus, great to have this cleared up as it's a pattern I've seen before but always wondered about. Cappa has the vase height as 190mm but I think that is close enough. Frustratingly no specific references are given by Cappa: I'd like to know how he arrived at the Sevres attribution.....

The link would be the right way to show these photos Antoinette, as they belong to the seller, so you can't add them to the board without their consent. This is a gorgeous bowl... I have no idea who made it but Pamela or Glen may know.
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd
