BTW: there are a couple of very good glaasblowers from the UK that have been in China for quite a few years running a couple of their factories. They have also enlisted the help of some very good Italians as well. I used to sell for a Mexican factory that had several of the Italian maestros come to Mexico for a couple of years in the early 70's and teach their craftsmen how to make some very fine figurines and figures. Most of those never left the Mexican market, but they were very good pieces. I'm not sure if they're still in business or not. I haven't had any communication with them in many years. I have a friend that was in the glass industry here in the US for 40 years and has been spending lots of time in China for the last 8-10 years working as a consultant. Amazingly, he found the government/union restrictions to production there were a lot less confining than they were here.
