Topic: ID for this Art Deco nude lamp base and shade please ~ Walther?

Hi guys ~ long time no speak!

I 'acquired' this Art Deco glass lamp base recently together with the shade, and would be very grateful for any information anyone can give me about them. I think the base (which is about 8" tall) is by Walther & Sohne, but would appreciate confirmation, and don't have any ideas about the shade.

the figurine lamp base of course is Walther, no comments on the rest sorry

I have seen several of the shades on eBay described as Czech ~ can anyone confirm this and/or tell me the maker?

Possibly Rapotinske Sklarny, long associated with the fabrication of light shades.

There were a lot of these shades floating around in the 80s, particularly in Paris flea markets - I assumed they were still being made then.

John — In England this Walther lamp base seems to turn up more often with your style of shade than any other.   
Unfortunately this doesn't help too much with the attribution of the shade, as the original importer / wholesaler could have sourced the shade from anywhere.   The bayonet fitting lampholder shown in your extra photographs is likely to be British, probably fitted by the importer / wholesaler.

In the 80s when metal lamps were my stock in trade, these shades were commonly fitted as the original shades when you did find complete lamps were mostly fabric and in a bad condition. Glass shades in a 'deco' style were the first choice for replacement, I tended to use flame shades.
