1920s glass in brochure - Bohemian?
« on: August 26, 2005, 03:21:16 AM »
Hi there,

Here is a page from a Bushell's Tea Coupon Book, which would have come out betwen 1924-1930 or so, -ish, sort of.

http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-6409

I was guessing the vases around the edge would have been Czech/Bohemian. Can anyone be any more specific?

Thanks heaps!!
Cathy.

Hi Cathy, :)
yes they are Bohemian, period 1918-1939 (Czechoslovakian) but I can't specify the firms. However I do have a number of similar vases to these & it was rather nice to see them pictured in this brochure! It really places then in a particular time.
I had always wondered about the vase with the three-legged base. I have a lemon yellow one, purchased in my very early days of collecting. I had not seen one like it anywhere!
I also have the orange spatter one pictured below the three-legged one, & 4 or 5 of the ones with the moulded vertical black stripes in various colours.
I wonder if any of mine were originally bought from a catalogue like this!
Marinka.
More glass than class!
