Holmegaard "Skjold" preservative jar???
« on: September 26, 2008, 07:28:27 PM »
I was wondering what this would've been used for?
It has a teak lid, which fits pefectly on the top so, I don't think it's something someone made up.
I'm not really at all familiar with the "Skjold" range so ,if there's any online galleries with more pieces, I'd love to see more.  ;D

Thanks  8)
Dan

The lid on your trinket box is incorrect - it should look like this:

I've a couple of pieces of Skjold on my shop website - I've not yet got around to listing them on my Holmegaard gallery site.

Cheers Nic,
I thought the teak lid was a little odd lol
If anyone has a spare glass lid..... ;)
I managed to get hold the blue version(with glass lid) today ;D

Fantastic website by the way, keep up the great work.  ;)

Sounds like you're just tripping over Skjold in your neck of the woods.  ;D

I found a less-terrible photograph of my blue box - just for on-site reference:

The one with the hole in the teak lid might have been a string dispenser. These were very popular things to have in, I think, the 1970s for some reason!
