Need Help Please with signature on art glass vase - ID = Correia
« on: September 29, 2008, 02:20:47 AM »
Hi all, I picked up this vase today at a church rummage sale but cannot make out the markings. I have included photos of the markings and a general photo of the vase. Thanks to all!

I am replying to my own question as an FYI for anyone else who may have wondered. I found out the signature is Correia. Thanks to all who had a look though.

I was just about to write you the same thing. I missed your post when it first came out. It must have been buried under new posts. Good purchase! Correia is one of the hardest names to make out.

It certainly is!  I did have a go at making it out, but it was impossible.  Thanks for getting back to us Jotz.   :D

Good grief, I'd not have worked it out either  :o   I looked at it all ways until I went cross-eyed and still couldn't make it out! ::)

Jean, could I take a copy of your image with the signature and add it into our GlassGallery signatures section please? It'd be such a help for anyone coming looking for a match in the future.
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd

Please do Anne and thank you all for your responses. I still cannot figure out the "VMCR" letters but have written the Corriea gallery and am hoping someone will get back to me. I will post that information as well if I recieve.
Have a good day

The only way I can recognize the Correia signature is that it looks like "Eosin" to me when I first look at it. I would have never been able to figure it out without some help. I love their vases, particularly the ones that are out of my price range.
