Despite common myth, the molecular structure of glass is not liquid but solid.

Hmmm.

Granite can chip too, but I would have thought glass was at the very least chippable even when so thick.

  :?

"cast glass monuments actually glow with life..."

  :?

(Obviously, not as we know it!!!!)

The bottom line on molecular structure is that no molecular structure is "solid"!
Glass is a "super-cooled" liquid. So are pure metals.
I presume this is why molten glass in the pot is referred to as the "metal"?

the funeral parlour around the corner has had a glass poohbear in their shopwindow, a monument for the little beloved & dearly departed, for at least five years....  8)
