Frosted bird - Salviati or ... ?
« on: October 25, 2008, 01:01:47 PM »
The bird reminds me of Salviati in style, but I'm not certain these are even Murano.  The technique (frosted glass) just doesn't seem right.  I do love the green eyes, though - a nice, subtle detail.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Age, maker, country of origin,  etc.
Thanks always,
Charles.

The bird certainly does look like a Murano bird. I don't know who made the bird. The finish reminds me of some of the things made by Fratelli Toso, but the style of the bird looks more like Salviati or Cenedese. It is a nice bird, no matter who made it.
