the 32cm tall vase(yes, I now know to say 'controlled bubbles') which stumped Pip, hence her suggestion to join this forum, but she wondered about it being Aseda(70's Swedish)

Certainly the right size and shape for Bergstrom and Aseda, but I can't find a picture of an example with the bubbles. Did Magnor do these with bubbles?

Yes, it is Magnor(of whom I've never heard)without a doubt, so now I'm off to do some online reading.
My vase is near-identical and your colour is much more like the ruby colour my inept pix did not convey.
Stand set-up this afternoon and I am very, very nervous indeed.
Thankyou again for such wonderful help.
I'll just have to guess about some of the other bits.
