Caithness again - I'm pretty sure
« on: November 05, 2008, 09:17:04 PM »
24 CMs tall.

Little crested birdie on a branch.

Signed on the bottom (the vase, not the bird) - I think...

L . S . CG . 74 ?

Would that be Caithness Glass - 1974?

I've looked on Franks wonderful site and can't find the shape of the vase.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Steve

There is a long way to go on Caithness, particularly early period. We will get there hopefully not to far in the future and hopefully questions like yours will draw in some more knowledge.

At the moment I am relocating so work has slowed considerably - though others are continuing to get material prepared for the site. Once I get my computer going again, I will see if I have any references that fit the initials.

I think LS stands for Lorna Sutherland - I have a similar vase marked as such and identified - the CG is for Caithness and mine is 1970s  which is within her working period.

Shown is LS for Lorna Sutherland on Autumn leaves pattern

Second photo to show Elaine Swanson mark with CG for Caithness Glass and date 1975
