A base shot would be helpful if poss.  It *looks* more Scandi to me - like something Tapio Wirkkala might have designed but, sadly, I don't have the Leslie Pina books to have a look.  It's fantastic though, I love it - I'm sure Marcus will know whether it's SU or not (have you ordered a copy of his new book?  If you're into SU then it's an absolute must).

Simon, I am pretty sure this is not a Sklo Union piece. As Pip rightly say, Marcus will be able to add more later.

Thanks I will try to get a base picture as it has a rather unusual base. I bought it thinking it might be a Wirkkala piece but when I got it home it became clear that it isn't. Any further help would be greatly appreciated!
regards
Simon

How about Tauno Wirkkala humpilla?

not the same but you can see the influence.

I think Scandi is more than likely Sue. I'm sure Della said she has one of these as well recently when we spotted one on eBay.

Thanks for the replies. I have several Tauno Pieces but this vase, although kind of similar in a way does noy have any texture to the glass whereas all of Tauno's work does. It is much thicker than Tauno's work too. I will photograph the base and add some more pictures in the hope that someone can identify it.

Here is the bottom pic.
Notice the pattern on it's base. I've never seen this before!!!!
Any ideas??? Surely somone must know? I will be stunned if it is Scandinavian as I collect it and have never seen this before! However having said that I did buy it because When I saw a picture of it I thought it might be scandinavian but having got it home I'm of th opinion that it isn't. You don't think it could be french, do you??? Its a very similar weight and quality crystal to Daum!
many thanks, in advance for your help on this matter!

For what it's worth, I don't think it's Scandinavian either, nor do I think it's French

Eastern European I'd say..Czech/ Romanian maybe ?
