Sat cat
« on: November 11, 2008, 12:38:47 PM »
Here is a stray satinated cat, 16 cm. high (6.1/4") with polished underside, no markings. The colour is a very distinctive greyish pink, the pink being a very light Neodymium addition in an otherwise grey glass. Does anyone recognise either the cat or the colour?

On second thoughts, I think this is lighter than your grey/neodymium cat...

Hmmmm - Cesare Toso. I had not even considered Murano, but it could well be, of course....

Thank you! Nybro is added to the list - it is definitely a contender! Do you remember if it had hair? This one does!

Ivo,
Well for a moment there I thought I was going to be able to help you at last!  But on closer inspection mine is quite different.  This one is also neodymium but no hair.  I bought this one new off ebay about 4/5 years ago, it also came in a cobalt blue, clear (white) and a plum colour all "frosted"? "satinised"?  This was made in the Czech republic.
Sorry about the quality of the pictures but just rushed them off to add to this thread!

You are!  My first reaction when Mr. Tiddles jumped into my lap and began to purr was "ZBS" because of the stylised design and the strange colour. Now you show an animal with a strong technical and artistic resemblance. They must be related!

I have a piece with the same finish but it is a small girl kneeling in prayer it has the Cesare Toso label , that is my guess.

Hello
Saw your Cat earlier today and was trolling through e-bay this evening and came upon the following!

Very similar in style colour and design don't you think!
