Is this Holmgaard or Alsterfors or indeed Scandinavian?
« on: December 04, 2008, 11:32:08 AM »
Hello,

Have already posted the text to this post once, but struggled with loading the photos, so I have had another go-

We would like an ID on this piece of glass please, and any advice or info would be a great help.  The vase measures 21.5cms, outer rim diameter 6.4cm and inner rim (inside casing) is 6cms, weight is 404g

Many thanks
Sharron & Mike

I have one of these in turquoise over a white interior. It has the remains of an Alsterfors label.

Many thanks for that Robbo,

I guess all our measurements fit yours then?
For some reason mike felt that the weight didn't add up, or the casing for that matter.  He expected it to be more dense than it actually is.  We do like it though, and clearly will be researching Alsterfors.  Thanks Sharron

... and likely to be a Per-Olaf Strom design.

Hmm, I have one of these with a RYD sticker on:

I do have 3 other similar shaped vases with the glass being much thicker(like Alsterfors), the orange/yellow colour one I got looks like an Alsterfors colouration, but the green and blue ones don't seem to match any Alsterfors I own or have seen online....I'll take some pics tomorrow.
