'Antique Clichy' or is it Perthshire?
« on: December 27, 2008, 06:11:43 PM »
I noticed this on ebay.   Looks much more like a Perthshire swirl  to me.   Did Clichy make swirls like this?   The ones I've seen have all been one colour swirl  (and usually light blue).   Perthshire swirls can be multi coloured like this one ...

Perthshire Paperweights PP21 design.

And central cane shows good elements of typically Scottish features.

There's another example of a PP21 on ebay described as Clichy.

See   http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/19thC-CLICHY-MILLIFIORI-MULTICOLOUR-SWIRL-PAPERWEIGHT-/300554145355?pt=UK_Art_Glass&hash=item45fa6c4e4b

I've written to the seller.

Actually, based on the size (2 1/2") the second listing is more likely a PP20

Oh dear, didn't realize I had an antique clichy, perhaps I shouldn't have sold it cheaper as a Perthshire. Roger.
