Cloudglass small dish - topaz?
« on: January 14, 2009, 06:46:16 PM »
Having peered closely at the colour pages on Chris Stewart's Cloudglass website, I *think* this is Topaz-Briar by Davidson, but would appreciate confirmation. Size is 4½" (115mm) diameter and 1" (25mm) deep, frosted underside, shiny topside.

Could this be part of a trinket set (it doesn't appear to have ever had a lid so maybe a pintray?), or if not, what might it have been for?

Thanks in hope. :)
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd

Is the base blue or green?

Alex and I have been peering at this to try and figure it out! ;D  The base colour is slightly more blue than green (but not a real blue or a real green, IYKWIM) and the trails are a maroon / dark red... does that sounds like Topaz-Briar, Christine?

I'm none the wiser. Davidson Briar (aka Topaz) is purple on green, as is Walther's Topaz violet, but Davidson made a very limited range in Topaz, several flower sets and fan and ripple vases, and I don't know if it's a Walther item.
