Hadeland glass set on a wooden tray
« on: January 20, 2009, 12:48:13 AM »
Hi
I am new here and know nothing about glass at all :-[
My Grandfather gave me this glass item and I have no idea what it is.
The stickers say "Hadeland - Norway" on them, and on the back of the wooden tray, it is stamped "225" and has what looks like some initials in a signature.
I think it might be from the 1950s or 1960s? as he has a lot of retro items in his house.
Can anyone tell me anymore about this item and what it might be?
Thanks :)

Hi and welcome.  Not too sure, but it looks like a relish or condiments set.  Very retro and nice ;)  Reminded me of the teak cheese platter with a smoked glass dome designed by Benny Motzfeldt for Hadeland.  Hopefully someone will know more.

Hi there.  Not sure if I am in left field or not.  I did find this link:  http://www.treadwaygallery.com/lotInfo.php?i=960  The design of the label looks similar.  Does your label have a *H* on it, or a *K* on it?   (Sorry, need new glasses here - lol  :spls: )

Hi, it's either Benny M. or Willy Johansson - I can't recall at the moment.

I've seen them described as condiment sets.

I have the three dishes but lack the rest of the set.

Beware - they do not handle dishwashers too well, best to clean by hand.
This goes for a lot of '40 ies through '70 ies Hadeland.
