Hi, I know this is a very old post but I had to add my two pence worth, I have one of these elephants, I had admired it in my god mother's house when I was a child, I inherited it from her in 1982. the lugs on the feet are there because it stands on a black glass plinth, about 5" X 4" X 4", containing a small lamp, loos stunning when lit up!
Just wanted to share.

Hi Smartacus,

To add pics, use the "Attach" function below the text area when you make a new post.
You will see that you are allowed four pics per post.

If you have trouble resizing images to fit the Board limit of 125Kb maximum per pic (in practice go for 120Kb max), then please look through the following Techie Tip (in Board Information, Help & Announcements):
TECHIE TIPS: Resizing images to fit the board

Note that we suggest a max PIXEL size of 700 for the longest side as this will very often produce a Kb size within the Board limit.

Yes, nice item.

Mart, does it have tusks? A straight-on side view would be good.

Hi Kevin, no it has no tusks, there are shallow sockets, more indentations really, I fell in love with this thing fifty years ago when I first saw it in my god mother's house, I have never known it to have tusks. I will have to fit a lamp as it's quite nice when lit up.
Mart.
