Small Blue and Gold vase
« on: January 30, 2009, 06:13:36 PM »
whilst tidy out my clutter i came across a small blue and gold vase. there is a label on the bottom that reads "Made In Italy Murano VENEZIA". Is there anywhere on the internet where i can can see if this a true piece of Murano or if it just a poser. any help will be appreciated.

Thank You

Hi:

There's lots of true Murano on the net, both "art glass" (i.e. expensive) and "tourist glass" (i.e. cheaper). Try this site to start http://www.great-glass.co.uk/library/lib4a.htm

If it has label, it's probably Murano. To be more certain, you could post  a picture of the piece on this site. As a relative beginner, I've found board members very helpful.

Hi CarlaRose and welcome to the board. You could also browse our gallery of Murano labels here: http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/thumbnails.php?album=102 to see if you can find a match.

It looks like Murano to me, although I don't believe that maker could be stermined unless someone recognized the label. The stopper seems original, as it's a perfume bottle, I believe. I'm far from my comfort level in identifying it as a perfume bottle, so It would great if someone could confirm.
