Cut pressed glass bowl and a Riihimaki style vase? And more.
« on: September 18, 2005, 04:23:57 PM »
Hello, me again, I've just come back from a car boot. A very poor one at that :)

I don't know who made this pressed glass bowl and why they gave it a hair cut.  :?
It seems to have nice quality colouring and it might be old-ish because there are quite a few scratches on the feet.

This is a riihimaki vase I think.

I have no idea about this one.

This one is very heavy and tall.

Strange one this as it looks as if it is inside out. It has three layers of glass. Bright orange on the inside, white in the middle and clear on the outside. The more light that shines through it, the stronger the orange.  8)

Any info welcome, thanks.  :)

Hello Tiger

The goldy amber one is Scandinavian, but the designer and manufacturer is undefined as far as I know.  It could be Riihimaki.

The purple/lilac plate is neodymium glass I think.  See if it changes colour (from lilac to greyish)  under different lighting condition ie from daylight to artificial light.  Also see if it flouresces (can't spell that) under UV.  Search the boards for 'Neodymium' or 'Dichroic by Design'.
I am not a man

Thank's Max, it does change colour. Lilac in normal light and light blue in fluorescent light.  8)

Very interesting, perhaps it is Italian?  :)

Ivo says the purple dish is Bayel, France. Thanks.  :D

This long heavy one is probably Italian.

Anne E.B. says the cased one might be polish.
