slag glass identification please
« on: March 07, 2009, 08:35:01 PM »
I tried to post this once, but am unsure if it took.  This is a beautiful orange slag glass vase.  It is marked on the bottom as shown.  Can anyone identify the maker mark for me?

Thank you!
Jennifer

I believe that crow is the Akro Agate mark.

Yes, indeed, it's from the Akro Agate Glass Co., which was located in Clarksburg, West Virginia, USA. This particular piece is the No. 316 vase with scalloped top. The company called this color simply "Orange". This company ceased production about 1951.

Thank you both so much!  Being from St. Louis, it looked like the Anheuser Busch symbol to me!  Anyway, I appreciate your information on this.
