Murano Candle sticks with Pulveri?
« on: March 17, 2009, 06:37:44 AM »
Hi All

We just got back from a fabulous trip to Tasmania and looked up a few antique shops. We found this pair on the last day at the bottom of a case. One of them has a petal end missing but the other is perfect.

Are these common? Anyone know who might have made them?

For those of you interested I paid about $US90 for the pair which the person running the shop says she paid for them, who knows. I like them very much so I am happy with this purchase.

Also bought a Murano light base that I will detail when I have the photo's in the computer.
Clean and Crisp a Murano twist.
Archimede tops my list.

That is definitely gold powder inclusion, and as you may guess, it does not come cheap. Those are quite spectacular

Thank you very much Ivo and John. I am very interested in what they are as we like them very much and feel lucky to have found them.

John, who is Salviati this is not a name that I have seen on the site?

Hi John

I went through the google images last night looking at both Salviati and Barovier. Didnt find anything like them but Barovier had some candlesticks that had a similar look but appear to me to be more detailed.

I assume that as it comes up on google images it is OK to use the image as a reference.

Those ones are cordonato d'oro - a style which Barovier's well known for, and as you say, not really similar to yours which are delicate and fine.   :)
