Where to go to get a weight repolished?
« on: March 17, 2009, 07:46:45 PM »
I've got a lovely PY weight which I bought in France (with signature), but it does have some surfaces scratches, fritting which detracts from viewing the weight properly.

Can anyone recommend someone who carries out repolishing.   Photo of weight attached.

Many thanks
Mary

Ed Poore, http://www.thecrystalworkshop.com/ , does marvelous work.  Though you may want to ask here about the impact of having an antique polished.  Some folks feel it is a bad idea.

the redhouse are very good, and robert hall does some restorative work.

always unsure if repolishing is a good idea. Your paperweight has a story to tell, and imperfections can be tolerable!!!
