If I remember the book well it shows pages with new designs from that year, but not necessarily the complete manufacturing range.  In other words, it is not possible to figure out how long a specific design has been in production. Some pieces were in production for a few seasons only, others for 40 years! Orrefors numbering for production glass does not reveal the year it was made.

A40ty mentioned the Glass Museum in Växjö has the original catalogs of production. In addition, the Archive at Orrefors has the cataloges, drawings by the artists, business records, and samples of the original works.

In addition data from Flygsfors, Gullaskruf, Strombergshyttan and other acquired firms was consolidated
into this Archives building. Having spent many hours doing research in the Archives, it was a series of really spiritural ocassions.

Unfortunately, the Swedish ownership company of Orrefors/Kosta Boda, New Wave has indicated they want to sell the contents of the archives, I assume to cover their on-going financial losses. An additional 150 people have been let go at Orrefors so the problems continue.

It would be dreadful if these records were to be sold abroad.. I hope there is interest to keep them in Sweden.
