Could this be a Mdina bauble
« on: April 20, 2009, 05:41:22 PM »
Hi,
I saw this hollow glass bauble come suncatcher in a box of miscellaneous items at a boot sale recently and purchased it for 20p or so because I thought the colours reminded me of a signed Mdina vase I once owned. Does anyone who may have visited the Mdina glassworks recollect whether these were on sale there please. Or am I barking up the wrong tree Woof Woof  ;D
It measures about 3" diameter

Thanks,
Bryn

I've seen these made by quite a few glassmakers - some of the most interesting colours are by Uredale Glass http://www.uredale.co.uk/website/gifts/mbaubles.htm - might be worth checking out.

Many Thanks Anne,
I can see where your coming from, the shape and top connectors are certainly similar to mine it was just that the colours so reminded me of Mdina Glass.
Whilst visiting the Uredale site I also discovered the likely source of a mini paperweight I have that has perplexed me for some years.

Cheers ;D

Uredale do such a range of colours that I'd not be surprised to see Mdina-like colours. I really like their baubles - I have a blue-green-clear one in the lounge window - and it was that which made me connect to yours with the size and top loop. I could be way off base though, so keep an open mind. ;)
