It is not often you see something like this with a label.

Hi Frank

I've got a Monart p/w with label, it's in a star shaped design.   I've tried to attach it to this post, but the file is too big even though I've reduced the size.   The label doesn't have any writing on it though.

Regards
Mary

Or I can add one of the ones that Mary sent me a few years back. I assume we are talking about the blue ground weight green and other "pastel coloured" canes. ;D

Mary's weight can be seen via this link and the base with label via this one.

As well as cropping out the section from Mary's original photos, I have tweaked the sharpness a bit.

As for Monart labels on PY weights, there are quite a few around and probably most that Paul made for sale via the Monart factory outlet(s) would have the label applied, but of course, labels can fall off or get damaged and removed. As Frank says, labels annotated with a "P/W No" are scarce. I know that Mary had (or still has) one - a damaged Dragonfly weight that I bid on in eBay some years ago.

And not that I am a "sour grapes" sort of person, but Mary has some rather nice Ysart items that I am almost jealous of. ;D

Yes Kevin, I do still have the dragonfly weight with inscribed label "P/W No. 22" and it also has the purple/white PY signature cane.   Pity about the annealing crack.    Do you have photos of it - if not I can send to you together with photos of the other p/ws.   I've held back as I'm not sure whether you received the pics of the inkwells - the files were rather large.    I'm also waiting the arrival of another PY p/w bought 2 weeks ago.

Fancy you being almost envious -  :chky: :chky: :mus:
