My brother tells me there's a small brown-covered book, with pictures of engraved bits - he says he's positive he gave me a copy years ago, (he didn't  we don't know what happened to it). The one I'm after however, apparently only ever had 200 copies printed.

The book all Benny Motzfeldt fans will want, is simply called ”Benny Motzfeldt” (various authors), published by Universitetsforlaget in Oslo (Oslo University Press) in 1984. It has lots of glorious color plates, each with a short comment in English. There’s also a short summary of the text in both English and German. The book is long out of print, but surfaces regularly on antiquarian booksellers’ websites. On the off chance that your local library might have the book, the ISBN is 82-00-07108-1.

That's the one I'm after.   It's gorgeous.
Thanks so much for the ISBN!  :kissy:

....but, you call '84 being "long out of print" - '84 was only just a wee while ago, I remember it (fairly) well......

How did you find it?
I'm not very good at searching the net - I only do very, very limited computery stuff, and stick to the tiny bits I can't do without, the odd  >:D forum, ebay occasionally, and email.

I was brave, and I did manage  to find something which gave links to amazon - there are only a couple of copies in the uk though, (I can't pay americans) - even in the uk this all means dodgy internetty bank stuff - which I try to avoid like the plague. But I want this book - waaaah! rocks and hard places, I'm so tired of them  :'(
There are no pics of the books, you don't really know what you're getting - there seem to be 2 authors as well, I assume a brother and sister or husband and wife, given they have the same surname!

AND I forgot to bid on my rainbow braces last night!

Even the uk addressed ones are over the pond. This means they want $, not ÂŁ.
There doesn't seem to be an option for paying by any means other via dodgy plastic (all plastic money is dodgy).

What happens with the bank if I try to pay $s with a debit card for an account which contains ÂŁs? what excesses do they charge?
And what's the liklihood I'm trying to buy the same actual copy as David?

I buy books in $ frequently and never had any issues or noticed any charges, and they arrive very quickly. The same copy as David will be unavailable.
Bought new from .com and delivered (slow, but never in my experience) it's ÂŁ31.30. You can pay in ÂŁ

Hope it will arrive ~ 16th september.
