More Walther Deco glass I have spare for any swaps?
« on: April 27, 2009, 03:36:28 PM »
Hi everyone
Here are some snaps of some surplus Walther deco pieces I have to offer as swaps. There is a deep blue part frosted Schmetterling vase,a blue Juno centrepiece,a pink Marina centrepiece in shell bowl, pair of pink Nymphen candleholders and also a complete pink Orla in correct bowl.I am wanting to do more swaps for items that I am looking for by Walther and sohne. If you are seriously wanting to do a swap for the items you see feel free to contact me and I will let you know what I am looking for.The Orla set i am looking for a good swap for as this is a seldom seen set.
I also have a green Nymphen dressing table set with the candleholders that have the arm above the head.
Many thanks for looking! Nige

Hi there

I have only just joined the glass forum and probably too late with this but wondrered if your beautiful Schmetterling was possibly for sale?? Sadly I don't have enough of a collection as the others to swap. As I have only just got 3 items to my "collection" to date...

Please let me know she is so beautiful.

Thanks

Nige  -  how can you turn a lady down, especially when she is just starting  -  where is your encouragement. ;)   Seriously tho, how do you evaluate the worth of your pieces in terms of a swap  -  not that I ever indulge, but occurs to me that two people may not find common ground when asked separately to decide on what for example your blue lady might equate to.    Or am I being too complicated.   Do you find that swapping works easily and well?  As a matter of interest, what is the current market value of the blue Schmetterling??  Paul S.

Hi there thanks for your support sadly I don't think I have anything mire beautiful than Nige's Schmetterling!! However I did see one of these go on eBay recently fir 210 Aussie dollars nut would have been a further $70 to ship to the uk.

Price wise I didn't have an issue but Oz is such a long way away that I didn't want a molten wicked Wichita of the west on arrival!!!

:0)

I'm sure with time and patience she will appear on a uk market!!
(fingers crossed!!)

one of the bretheren had all three colours in green white and blue in her conservatory and I'm practically GREEN with envy!!! WHAT a collector!!!

Hi Paul and Antoinette
Being a gay man I can easily turn a lady down haha! Seriously I have had many good swaps on the net and around the fairs I usually judge it on how rarer the piece is to which to swap it for.
I have the Schmetterling in green, pink, blue and of course the deep blue as in the picture so just looking for an amber version! I have had the green Nelson ship 3 times now and other Walther twice in the past its just if I see it for a good price its good to buy for possible swaps.
I think the last time the deep blue Schmetterling was on ebay it was over £200.Have also seen the green one at Newark for £235.

Hi Nige you have my total respect that's one heck of a collection and you must have a huge house to display all this!!! Not sure but I thought the Schmetterling was only designed for the pink green and blue in the original visioning ...??

Happy to keep a look our whilst I'm perusaling for the pink and blue!!!
Is it true the darker one with frosting is likely to be a 1960's copy???

Good luck with our joint quests for 'The Holy Schmetterling' it took me just the 5 years to get a Sega Butterfly girls clock I liked so used to the 'long haul'

:0) with Xmas coming, the euro escalating and a hol in Teneriffe calling it's ptob for the best right now!!!
Lovely to speak with u both - I shall let you know if I have any further luck in the New Year!!

Hi Antoinette
Did you find a Schmetterling?
The deep blue one I have has had some repair done to it looks like it was broken in 2 then fixed back together with some sort of resin inside the vase.It is very solid so no chance of coming apart! Wondered if you would be interested in buying? Obviously I understand if you don't want a damaged one!

My understanding is that part frosted examples are c. 1960s.
